Thornton Cleveleys Horticultural Society was formed on 5th February 1941 as part of the ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign. It started life as the Thornton-Cleveleys Allotment Holders & Gardeners Association, changing its name in 1948 to Thornton-Cleveleys Horticultural Society.
The Society has been arranging shows since the very beginning with a produce display arranged in the first year. The first record of a trophy being presented was in 1943 and today we present 40+ trophies each year for a variety of skills and achievements. The society has successfully delivered a show every year until Covid-19 prevented us from gathering in numbers. The 80th Anniversary Flower Show, due in summer 2021, was postponed until August 2022.
If you are interested in our history, you can read more in our TCHS History. If you would like to be part of our future, please come along to a talk/presentation, visit or exhibit at our Annual Flower, Arts and Crafts Show and/or become a member.
